vertical dance : technique & creation | wall + floor

DAY 1 - 9h00 / 10h45

DAY 2 - 14h30 / 16h00

90/105mn
Inter/adva level

*These daily sessions will be split between Lindsey & Magalie and are intended for aerialists with prior single point sit harness experience.

On the Wall: We will work on placement with proposals that revisit the fundamentals of vertical dance. This includes concepts such as the notion of weight, space, control, abandon, and momentum on a rope. We will develop suspensions, learn repertory, and explore different materials and qualities of movement, focusing on mobility and space in the body. We will progress from basic orientation and vocabulary towards more complex sequencing and challenging explorations.

Ideally, you should be familiar with, confident in, and competent at demonstrating the following: Planks (on different planes), finding your balance point on hands or feet, jumping, and returning to the wall with control, as well as basic rotations.

On the Floor: This class forms an introduction to the characteristics of working on a variety of rigging systems, in different configurations and spatial relationships and using guided improvisations to explore each new territory.
Please wear multiple snug layers around your hips and waist for your comfort. Long sleeved shirts are also handy for some moves, and you may also want to bring slim soled plimsolls or pumps for working on the wall – Feiyues are ideal!

*If you have a preferred climbing harness and any kit (gri-gris, rigs, karabiners etc), please bring them with you.
